Chatham Grammar’s Athletic Teams achieved outstanding success at the indoor athletic this term.
Last term some of our Year 7 and 8 students competed in the Medway Sports Hall Athletics competition, at the Howard School.
They were well prepared following numerous training sessions and were very focused on achieving their very best.
A number of the students achieved 1st or 2nd in their events which resulted in us achieving 1st place overall out of eleven schools. They all performed amazingly well and we are proud of their achievements.
Following on from their Medway success, in February Chatham Grammar competed in the Kent Finals at Medway Park. Exhibiting such a high level of athletic prowess enabled our teams to reach an exceptionally high level of performance in this event. Our dream team Year 8 were triumphant, and climbed the podium to accept 2nd place out of fourteen schools - making them the second best indoor athletic champions across the whole of Kent!
The Year 7 team were invited to participate at the last minute so we had to form a team very quickly. However, the ongoing commitment and dedication to athletic practices certainly paid off. Despite the lack of competition preparation, and thanks to their determination and focus, our Year 7 competitors performed at a very high standard and achieved 5th out of fourteen schools.
A massive well done to all who took part.
