Chatham Grammar Win Overall Recycling Champions Award in Kent and Medway!

During Term 3 we took three Green Team students to the Ashford International Hotel for the KM Charity Green Schools Award ceremony. They had been nominated for their work in recycling.

The ceremony was likened to the Oscars by the Director of Public Health for Medway, James Williams. Perhaps the school uniforms didn’t quite meet the same level of the glitz and glamour of the Oscars dresses, but it was just as important a ceremony for the students involved.

Our students presented an excellent video they had produced about their work in the Academy and looked very smart when they accepted the award.

Kent Messenger interviewed and photographed our students with the sponsors, and with the other Medway schools, most of which were primaries.

It was fantastic to see Chatham Grammar students recognised for all their hard work amongst schools from different regions of Kent.

It has to be said that achieving the overall award was totally unexpected. We were absolutely delighted when Chatham Grammar was announced as Overall Recycling Champions for Kent and Medway!

The Geography Department are so proud of the work the Green Team put in each week.

Congratulations and well done to you all!
